With a heavy heart we have reached the decision to postpone our participation at Expo Portland in April. Expo plays an important role in the global coffee industry; for us, but moreover everyone represented or attending.
We carefully considered if our decision would have a detrimental impact on the people and community we care most about. Ultimately we have concluded that in this case, sharing is not caring. To play our part in reducing the spread of COVID-19 (novel coronavirus) around the world, we believe it is best for our team and the wider community to postpone our attendance.
Expo is the highlight of our year. We are lucky to operate at the heart of an industry with so many fantastic people doing great work that matters, and meeting face to face at Expo really brings this to life for us. The global connectivity of the coffee industry is really tangible at the event and we are energised and inspired spending time with customers and colleagues in the industry.
While we may not physically be in Portland this April, we are still available : )
Over the coming days we will find ways to build digital connectivity – and hopefully share a virtual coffee(!) with everyone we would have met at Expo.
In the meantime we send a message of solidarity to our friends and colleagues who have been directly affected, knowing how much we’ll appreciate the next time we meet in person.
