SCAA 2015 – OUR MICRO-ROASTER AT SEATTLE’S MASSIVE COFFEE SHOW

Our first foray into the United Stated of America with our micro roaster was a great success.

Over the Easter break, Andrew and Luke made the journey across the pond with two micro coffee roasters, pop-up banners, a fancy table cloth and massive bag of green coffee beans to demonstrate the IKAWA Coffee Roasters at SCAA – the showcase event of Speciality Coffee Association of America in Seattle.

SCAA 2015 is described as the world’s largest coffee expo and we certainly concur. Better than size though, there was a serious level of coffee expertise at the show and an enthusiasm that was contagious.

The interest in our Pro Roaster was unprecedented. We spend 3 days demonstrating the roaster – roasting over 10kg of green beans in 200 roasts. We had to specially modify our roasters to adapt to American 110 -120 V mains power but they ran like a dream roasting non-stop for 3 days  back to back! The 110 -120V Pro Roasters are now available for international sales – more info on that here.

Thanks for everyone who came to our stand and for the positive write-ups we received – especially to Nick Brown from Daily Coffee News who included us in his “Shiny New Products at the 2015 SCAA Expo in Seattle” round-up.
